Job Summary

The Reporting Analyst is directly responsible for the creation, modification and ownership of reports related to SproutLoud and its clients. This role is also the primary interface between the Business Intelligence (BI) Analytics & Reporting team and business units within SproutLoud. He/she helps turn data into information, and information into analytics that help our clients drive business decisions. This individual works with a team of highly skilled BI Developers who facilitate access to a diverse set of internal and external data sources, and helps maintain a dedicated operational rigor across all data teams to solve data integrity and quality issues combined with key business metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). The BI Analytics & Reporting team works with SproutLoud’s data partners on mission-critical projects to bring the best analytics to the brands we serve.

Working with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and partners, he/she participates in gathering and documenting reporting requirements to meet business needs of internal and external clients.

This individual supports (but is not limited to) KPIs, Digital Products, Media Buy, Production Design, Print Production, Company SLA, Reimbursement & Claims, Client Services and Accounting requests for reports. This position is responsible for maintaining and delivering on demand, daily, weekly and monthly reports to internal stakeholders.

Challenges

  • Act as owner of public display of metrics/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and data management
  • Deliver employee KPI data
  • Respond to client reporting requests
  • Responsible for service level agreement (SLA) and work throughput reporting
  • Coordinate with leadership, manage internal meetings, develop and create new reports
  • Write custom reports using SproutLoud’s BI Tool (training provided)
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Client Services teams to identify top grossing assets and provide guidance for application performance (utilizing the BI Tool and/or raw data)
  • Other ad-hoc analysis, related system setup and maintenance as needed
  • Provide first line of triage and troubleshooting expertise to business units and key stakeholders
  • Apply strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into business requirements and the BI product of our software
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Show a keen eye for detail and the ability to adhere to deadlines within a fast-paced environment
  • Build reports, dashboards, and other data tools that enable self-service for business users
  • Participate in testing products and processes to identify requirement defects, to meet standards, and to ensure effectiveness
  • Provide educational resources and relevant data dictionary for help with data quality or data access performance issues
  • Train, coach and advise other team members about analytics best practices

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor degree in Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Business, Information Systems or other related fields in quantitative or analytical discipline 
  • 3-5 years’ experience that includes 2+ years experience with reporting, metrics and KPIs
  • Comfortable working closely with engineering and experience with Agile development teams
  • Knowledge of local marketing – including marketing stages, channel marketing, B2B marketing and, most importantly, consumer marketing 
  • Digital marketing knowledge
  • Ability to grasp and understand marketing concepts
  • Natural curiosity for innovation 
  • Strong internal service skills
  • Represent and/or support SproutLoud in client facing data meetings
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to develop new processes and/or formats as needed while displaying a strong entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to dig into data to drive understanding displaying a forensic mindset
  • Ability to learn new technologies, software and computers quickly
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Not required but would be a plus:

  • Experience with Pentaho PDI (Kettle)
  • Experience with analytics platforms like Tableau, GoodData, etc.
  • Knowledge of statistical programming and statistical methods to analyze data
  • Experience with big data and map-reduce technologies
  • Experience creating and reporting from large datasets across multiple data sources 
  • Familiarity with Data Science concepts
